THE Gambling Suppression and Anti-Vice Unit, the Royal Brunei Police Force on Friday has arrested a man believed to be operating a restaurant without a licence in the Kg Pengkalan Batu area.
In a statement issued yesterday, the raid, Operation Ingar, was conducted alongside with Brunei-Muara District Office, Royal Customs and Excise Department, Immigration Department, Labour Department and officer from the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The officers conducted the raid around 10pm at a restaurant around the Kg Pengkalan Batu, and detained a man believed to be the owner of the restaurant.
The raid was conducted based on information received regarding an activity being carried out at a restaurant that was operating without licenses and organising a Karaoke session.
The suspect is currently being investigated under the Miscellaneous Licenses Act and the Public Entertainment Act.
If found guilty, he faces a $10,000 fine for each respective offence.The Brunei Times
