Dear Editor,
I WOULD like to highlight a serious problem faced by visitors at Seri Kenangan Beach in Tutong District.
Nowadays, those who want to visit this area will have to bring sticks or stones for protection as the beach is invaded by many stray dogs.
The presence of these animals posed a threat to visitors, especially for the small children who come here for picnic with their families.
According to one of the food vendors at the beach, the presence of these stray dogs was first noticed about two weeks ago.
Reportedly, this sudden surge in the numbers of stray animals at this beach is caused by some irresponsible dog owners who dumped their unwanted pets here.
These dogs are also scavenging the trash bins as a result the rubbish could be seen scattered on the ground. As many as 20 dogs are currently seen at this beach.
These stray dogs also posed a threat to the vendors as they sometimes roam near their stalls and try to steal their food. As a resident of Tutong District, I hope that the relevant authority will take serious action on this issue before someone gets hurt. A Tutong resident
