Dear Editor,

I AM utterly appalled by a report on Yahoo's website yesterday; a female Israeli soldier has posted up two photos of herself smiling beside bound and blindfolded Palestinian prisoners on Facebook! This obviously upsets the Palestinians and apparently drew criticism from the Israeli military too.

However, I don't buy it one second, that the Israeli military is concerned about violating their so called morals and ethical code. The only thing that matters to them is how this will add to their already monstrous acts of crime in the eyes of the world again shortly after the flotilla attacks.

Look at the photo of the woman. She is identified as Eden Aberjil on Facebook. She would have looked like a warm hearted person with her soft looking eyes and face, if not for the bounded prisoner beside and behind her. If you look her up on Facebook, this woman is already a hero amongst them as another account called We Love Eden Aberjil was created by her admirers and supporters. The same picture of her (with a single prisoner), was featured on the Israeli blog site sachim.tumblr.com. According to the notes below the photo on Courant.com, the Hebrew in the top right of the photograph translates as, "Eden Arberjil's photos - army...the best time of my life." This is absurd and sick, and as stated by Palestinian Authority spokesman Ghassan Khatib, the pictures (and may I also point out the new Facebook account) show the mentality of Israelis on how proud they are to humiliate their prisoners and Palestine as a whole.

I find that the article is also subtly unfair as the closing paragraph seems to explain/ justify why they (Israelis) blindfold and handcuff or bind their prisoners. It looks more like the detainees were to face an execution rather than arresting them to stop them from fleeing.
