TO CULTIVATE the philosophy of Malay Islamic Monarchy (MIB) to Program Khidmat Bakti Negara (PKBN) participants, a contest was held where eight PKBN platoon teams were ordered to give out a performance that is strongly linked to the nation's philosophy.

Held at the Sports Village in Berakas, Platoon 3A won the competition followed by Platoon 1A and 3A.

"We did a skit about MIB. The values that we tried to show was about respecting elders, Bruneian traditions, and National Day. We've gained experience from what we've learned here, and gathered it as a group,'' said Platoon 3A leader Mohd Muslimin Mustafa (1139) from Tutong.
Professor Madya Ampuan Dr Haji Ibrahim Ampuan Hj Tengah, who presented the gifts and souvenirs to the winners and representatives, voiced his satisfaction on the contest.

"As members of the new generation, these youths are undeniably  assets for the county. As a result, their understanding of MIB should be emphasised. Through their presentations, one can evaluate on how far they understand the philosophy of MIB, in terms of social culture, politeness, Islamic knowledge, and factors that needed to be avoided,'' the professor explained.

"This is a very good activity to strengthen the new generation's understanding of MIB, they are our future assests,'' he added.

A facilitator of the MIB quiz, Zainul Ariffin Alif, said, "As one of the facilitators of this MIB programme, on which I am directed by my lecturer, we plan to spread as much information to sow the values of MIB to these participants.''

Asked regarding the progress of the students, he said, "This is the last day of our programme. We have given the participants MIB lectures for 82 days, with 15 lectures. Alhamdulillah, we have tested them by giving spontaneous jobs, and I can say that these participants have made drastic improvements.''

"The values of MIB are slowly sowed into them. This is what the nation wants. Youths who not only practice MIB, but also defend the concept of the country.''
